Meme…what does it mean? Put it in context, try it in a sentence…

The other day I was sharing a meme with my Grandad…

Could you supply me with the standard deviation, the median and the meme?

Despite a cultural studies degree, and a rudimentary grip on language, i’m at a bit of a loss with this one. And it’s one of those terms that seems to have fallen into fashion again.

I think it’s something to do with measuring cultural shifts or paradigms in empirical terms.

During summer trips to Paris and errr Wales, we decided that we needed to come up with a measurement for fun…Being the extremely witty wordsmiths that we are, naturally we concluded on the term ‘funit’. Also loosely based on those mastercard ads

i.e. Paddling in the Pompidou fountain…10 funits
Smashing beers alongside the Seine…10 funits
Getting misted in 40 degree heat…20 funits

Paris in the summer with some of your favourite people…infinity funits (priceless)

Yes that’s right, i’m implying a funit is a meme. And i will continue with this misguided assertation that we are sophisticated and culturally advanced until someone tells me otherwise.
